New Attraction!!!

The Tin Valley at Lost World of Tambun was a new attraction opened to public in September 2011. This valley aims to educate today's generation in the rich heritage of tin mining in Ipoh. Visitors are able to experience "Dulang Washing" (Tin Ore Panning) - the art of using a dulang to extract tin from the earth and sand. Besides, there are educational boards that explaining the art of tin mining, how tin is mined, from its first form to tin that can be sold.

The 800-metre long Supersonic Odyssey roller coaster with a top speed of 80kmph will surely rush the adrenaline through your body. And now it's time to swing incredibly 360˚ backwards and forward to heights of over 20 metres in Space Attack. You will forget everything as and when you enter the implausible DNA Mixer, loops forward and backwards while tilting at the same time. Ooort's Express will definitely spin your body out of control...and keep on spinning in the spider-like machine, Dizzy Izzy!

Two months later, we will have our first CITY OF KIDS in Petaling Jaya!!!

IMAGINE a replica of real city equipped with buildings, shops, theatres, streets as well as businesses and services, made and run by children!!!

KidZania Kuala Lumpur at The Curve in Petaling Jaya is 80% complete on schedule to open its doors to customers in mid January next year. Unlike other theme parks, KidZania KL will not feature any rides or arcade games. Instead, it will feature a child-size replica of a real city. It is aimed at children aged between 4 and 14, who will learn about the adult world as they get involved in role-playing over 90 different professions at more than 60 establishments, including pilots, television anchors, surgeons, chefs, firemen and policemen.

It is built like an actual city, with the buildings and amenities scaled down to children’s sizes. Each building in KidZania represents a real establishment in the community. When kids go into these businesses, the fixtures will be child-sized versions of the real business operations. Therefore, they are presented with an exact replica of how these businesses are run in real life!

Just Imagine - Your child arrives in KidZania via the airport and goes straight to the bank to redeem 50 Kidzos, the currency used in the city. With these 50 Kidzos, your child then starts exploring the city and its various shops. He/she can use the money to buy things, take lessons and such. When the money runs out, there’s no top-up option like many entertainment establishments. So what do they do? Well, go out and earn more kidzos! How’s that for an education in life?

This is an educational theme park that helps the kids to learn how to be independent and think out of the box. They will have to make all their own decisions, which helps them develop self-esteem and social responsibility.

This theme park has added Dell, TM, Nippon Paint and Hoya to its growing list of marketing partners. With this agreement, these partners are commited to set up a creative design centre, a telecommunications centre, a paint school and an optometry centre, respectively, at the theme park, introducing the notebook engineer, telecommunications engineer, painter and optometrist professions. Seven other companies are expected to join the list of marketing partners - AirAsia, CIMB, Honda, Media Prima, The New Straits Times Press, Pos Malaysia and Fitters Diversified.

Don't be confused, I'm not going to talk about the Thai horror film "Coming Soon" but - LEGOLAND MALAYSIA, the FIRST Legoland theme park in Asia and SIXTH in the world !!!

Legoland Malaysia is a theme park scheduled to open in Nusajaya, Johor, Malaysia in 2012 with over 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions. Located in Nusa Cermelang industrial park, within the Iskandar New Economic Region, the theme park will boast the tallest lego model in the world. This will be the biggest family entertainment project in Johor which will attract tourist from locally, Indonesia and also Singapore.


Among the attractions at Legoland Malaysia, there will be a gigantic replica of the Petronas Twin Towers, all built using Lego bricks and it will be the tallest Lego structure in the world. Replicas of famous landmarks from around the world such as India’s Taj Mahal, Beijing Bird’s Nest Stadium, Cambodia’s Angkor Wat and Singapore’s Merlion statue will also be featured, all made from Lego bricks. All the main structures will be located at Legoland’s Miniland. The theme park would also have famous buildings in Johor Baru, such as the Royal Museum, Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque and the Dataran Bandaraya clock tower.

The Lego structures and many attractions such as roller coaster rides will be situated outdoors while the food and beverage outlets will be housed in air-conditioned buildings at the park. There will be an unique 4D theatre and a kids driving school where children can obtain their first driving license, recognized by Legoland worldwide. Besides, there will be a Legoland Hotel and a Lifestyle Mall in the vicinity of the park.

Orang Utan - Bukit Merah Laketown Resort

Here’s an amazing Orang Utan fact: 97% of the Orang Utan’s DNA is identical to that of a human! In fact, the name ‘Orang Utan’, when translated from Malay to English literally means ‘person of the forest’. Not surprisingly, they are extremely intelligent creatures that have the ability to think, feel and express emotion the way we do. And, you have a chance to observe these primates' behaviour up close and personal at Orang Utan Island at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort!!!

The world's first Orang Utan conservation and rehabilitation centre - Orang Utan Island at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort was set up as an Orang Utan breeding sanctuary as well as conservation, research and education center to better understand this endangered species.


At the island, you will be taken through a 100-meter steel walkthrough 'cage tunnel' to come up close and personal with these primates. In a twist, you will be enclosed in a 'cage' as you observe the Orang Utans roaming free in their natural habitats.


The island can be reached via a 10-minute boat ride from the main jetty at Marina Village. The ferry departs every 45 minutes.
